What’s out there on the crowdfunding front for our area? Pet and health problems, creative projects, and once again a few campaigns that seem perfect for our area:
SHELTER FOR THE SENIOR DOGS is the name of Paws Unlimited Foundation’s $15,000 campaign on Gofundme.com for the creation of a space for older dogs who have been abandoned, often because their owners are headed into a hospital or nursing home. They have a space and need to create better access to the outdoors. “Please help our ‘No Limit on Love’ program,” says this 501(c)3 out of Kingston.
EMERGENCE AS8 — THE WORLD’S MOST INNOVATIVE SPEAKER SYSTEM is a Kickstarter project out of Woodstock that’s a quarter way to an $85,000 goal. The speaker system uses “fractal based diffusion” to make any space sonically perfect, and comes with revolutionary accoutrements. They close their campaign on June 7. Investors get first dibs at the system, invented and promoted by top musicians. Talk about a shift away from the portable world! Check out kickstarter.com; look for James Orr and Woodstock.
SHARE IT FORWARD! — COMMON HANDS FARM FOOD SHARE is an effort to give 10 to 20 CSA food shares from a farm near Hudson to families or individuals of low income, either in the form of financial assistance or full financial support for those in greater need. Investors also get shares, meaning veggies pick up throughout the growing season. They’re raising a few thousand through the coming month; look them up on youcaring.com under Your Hudson Valley Neighbors.
