A Christmas Story, the Musical.Featuring the Woodstock Playhouse Productions Holiday Cast of 2016. Members of the regional company join with the New York Conservatory of the Arts (NYCA) to present this classic the first two weekends in December!  This musical, now on national tour, hailed rave reviews when it was featured on Broadway.  The Woodstock Playhouse. 103 Mill Hill Road, Woodstock  December 2-11. Kingston Model Railroad Club Annual Open House. Bring the whole family and enjoy the Kingston Model Railroad Club’s 70-year-old  scale rail model railroad layout. You will see everything from turn-of-the century steam power, to the most modern freight train, a huge circus train, our own Thomas-the-Tank Engine Model, and even Santa Claus has his own special train. $6 adults; $2 children under 12.  Kingston Model Railroad Club. Third  Annual Reindeer Ramble 5K Holiday Road Race and Competitive Walk. A benefit for the YMCA Strong Kids Scholarship Fund.  Snow or shine event.  Santa-Pede – Dress up and run in a team tied together like Santa’s Reindeer, minimum 5 runners/maximum 7 runners per team. $10 student, $15 adult. Emerging Artist Classical Music Series: Elysia Roman at ARTBAR Gallery in Kingston.Elysia Román delivers an homage to one of the most prolific composers for harp, Carlos Salzedo. Román’s recital will feature several of Salzedo’s original compositions, as well as arrangements written by the likes of Debussy, Handel, and Haydn. Frozendale Festival. A community generated festival where participating shops showcase the best of local food, art, music and crafts. Rosendale Library offers their wonderful Holiday Booktique from 10am-3pm and a reading of holiday stories for children read by Ann Van Damm at 10am.  Rosendale Theatre features a free 11am matinee: “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” The Redwing Blackbird Theatre presents a puppet show at 3pm. The holiday gift sale is held in RosenSpace this year with lots of vendors (formerly known as The Creative CoOp). Roaming musicians and Santa Claus will be strolling on Main Street throughout the day. Parade to light the Library at 4pm. The Big Cheese hosts the Mac N Cheese Bake-Off at 5pm. Anyone who can melt cheese can compete in this annual competition to win prizes. Rosendale. December 10, 10am-6pm.
