The History of Beer in Dutchess County. Rhinebeck Historical Society’s President David Miller will delve into the history of beer in Dutchess County. He will take you through the early history of taverns and beer through the Temperance movement and Prohibition showing many old photos during the talk. Come enjoy festive drinks, appetizers, and dessert while getting a glimpse into current-day beer making in Dutchess County. Pancake Breakfast with Santa. Enjoy pancakes served all day long and while you are here visit with Santa and let him know all the reasons you are on the Nice List this year! This is a perfect chance to bring family and friends together to share a delicious breakfast. Seating times are 9:30am and 11am. Polar Express Night at Hyde Park Train Station. Karin Armstrong reads “The Polar Express”, a stirring and whimsical holiday favorite children’s novel at the Hyde Park Station. Refreshments will be served. 5pm and 7pm. Monday, December 19. Hyde Park Train Station Museum. 34 River Road, Hyde Park.

Mariapolis Luminosa of the Focolare Movement. One of 32 Focolare little cities of the Focolare Movement around the world. Mariapolis Luminosa, the Focolare little city for North America, is located in Hyde Park, New York, in the beautiful surroundings of the Hudson Valley. At Christmas time, Luminosa traditionally hosts a unique display of over 100 Nativity Scenes from all over the world. Ugly Sweater Party. Join together in ugly knit glory as a local brewery present vertical tasting of Brom Bones and the Big Apple.  They have kegs of 2015, 2016 and a bourbon aged cask of each the pumpkin and apple.  These specialty ales will be served for on-premise consumption only.  Flights of all six variations will be available.  They will be running a charity drive once again this year – snacks will be provided. Christmas Cupcakes & Classic Spirits. Home of Dutch’s Spirits plays host for this Christmas Event. Festive Candlelight Tours. Mount Gulian Historic Site, the Dutch Colonial home of the Verplanck family, invites visitors to unwind during the busy holiday season by joining us for a close-to-home, relaxing time of good cheer, good food and good company. The homestead’s rooms will be beautifully decorated in different fashions, with opulent Victorian décor adorning the room once used for dining; to simple, rustic, natural pieces decorating the room that served as the study; to contemporary holiday displays embellishing the home’s main room. The Flat File Show. Matteawan Gallery is pleased to present The Flat File Show, a group exhibition that includes drawings, photographs, prints, and mixed media works on paper. The show highlights the work of artists who have exhibited with the gallery in recent years and whose work has been included in the gallery flat file. Throughout the year, works on paper are available for purchase and visitors are welcome to view work from past shows.
